Project Overview: I managed this project, to undertake a Hydrographic survey for the AHO, which is used to update navigational charts, under the HIPP scheme. The HIPP scheme lays out rigorous requirements to ensure tight data tolerances – far more so than other projects – to ensure a high level of confidence in the data used to update the chart information and depths.
In field Scope:
- Hydrographic Survey (1674 km2)
- Tide Gauges, Current meters, deployed to seabed
- Sampling of seabed (grabs and cameras)
- GNSS land base stations
Challenges:
- Utilising third party vessel
- Weather and waves
- Managing crewing
- Demanding data and mobilisation specs
- Working with multiple government stakeholders
